Mark Wahlberg leads a new action comedy on Apple TV+ but the true streaming winner this week is Netflix with plenty of new options

‘The Family Plan’ (Apple TV+)

Dan Morgan (Mark Wahlberg) loves his quiet suburban life as a devoted husband, father of three and successful car salesman. But that’s only half the story. Decades earlier, he was an elite government assassin tasked with eliminating the world’s deadliest threats. When enemies from his past track him down, Dan packs his unsuspecting wife (Michelle Monaghan), angsty teen daughter, pro-gamer teen son and adorable 10-month-old baby into their minivan and takes off on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas. Determined to protect his family — while treating them to the vacation of a lifetime — Dan must put his long-dormant skills into action, without revealing his true identity.

‘Reacher (Season 2)’ (Prime Video)

Reacher is pulled from his vagabond life by a coded message informing him that a member of the 110th - his elite group of Army Special Investigators - has been murdered. He and some of his former military cohorts reunite to investigate and soon realize the case is bigger than they ever could have imagined.

‘Yu Yu Hakusho’ (Netflix)

Yu Yu Hakusho, the legendary smash-hit manga from Weekly Shonen Jump, is finally getting a live-action adaptation! This series of unprecedented scale is brought to life by an all-star cast that includes Takumi Kitamura, Jun Shison, Kanata Hongo, Shuhei Uesugi, Sei Shiraishi, Kenichi Takito, Goro Inagaki and Go Ayano. A Murder at the End of the World is a mystery series featuring a Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker “Darby Hart.” Darby and eight other guests are invited by a reclusive billionaire to participate in a retreat at a remote location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use her skills to prove it was murder before the killer takes another life. The first six episodes are now streaming.


‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Season 12)’ (Max)

A trio of fast-food items works to solve mysteries in this long-running edgy adult cartoon. The brains of the group is Frylock, a floating box of fries, but Master Shake does a lot of the talking, most of it aimed at making life miserable for Meatwad, a sweet-natured ball of meat. The first four episodes are now streaming.


‘Slow Horses (Season 3)’ (Apple TV+)

In season three, a romantic liaison in Istanbul threatens to expose a buried MI5 secret in London. When Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman) and his team of misfits are dragged into the fight, they find themselves caught in a conspiracy that threatens the future not just of Slough House but of MI5 itself.
