Pantera and Lamb of God Leave a Trail of Destruction on North American Tour

Pantera and Lamb of God Leave a Trail of Destruction on North American Tour

- By Ramon Gonzales

The colossal tandem of metal greats put on a generational masterclass for their tour stop in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest pairings of the touring season, the union of Pantera and Lamb of God has more than delivered on the hype as one of the most dynamic runs of the year thus far.

For Pantera, the trek offers yet another opportunity to pay tribute to the life and enduring legacy of the Brothers Abbott, in spreading the gospel according to Vinnie and Dime. With brothers in metal Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante taking up the sword in their honor, the entirety of the set translated as a collection of generational greatest hits uniting an entire arena to erupt with each entry.

Given the band bookended their time with "A New Level" as the opener and burnt down the Resch Center with "Fucking Hostile" as their encore - it became evident that Pantera didn't come to fuck around. Compiling a presentation that includes essentials like "5 Minutes Alone", "Strength Beyond Strength", the recently resurrected "Floods" from The Great Southern Trendkill as well as staples like "Walk" "Domination" and "Cowboys From Hell" - Pantera pummeled the Midwest faithful in the most glorious way.

As for Lamb of God, the band showed a thorough understanding of the assignment, compiling a setlist that intended to lay waste to the Wisconsin crowd. From newer entries like "Ditch" from the 2022 LP Omens, to the mandatory jams like "Now You'd Got Something to Die For" and "Laid to Rest", Lamb of God never relented - enduring the throttle was held down for the duration of their stagetime.

Offering their own tribute to the influential impact of both Vinnie and Dime, Lamb of God closed their time with a rendition of "Redneck" dedicated to the beloved drummer and guitarist - reiterating the reality that heroes get remembered, but legends never die.
