SOUL GLO AND ZULU BRIDGE CONTEMPORARY EAST COAST AND WEST COAST HARDCORE WITH CO-HEADLINING TOUR
The 23-date run features two of hardcore’s most celebrated disruptors, both armed with universally acclaimed albums.
Given the trajectory of both LA’s own ZULU and Philly finest in Soul Glo, the pairing for a co-headlining tour seemed an obvious move no one saw coming – but should have.
For Soul Glo, the band’s hailed 2022 Epitaph Records full length, Diaspora Problems was a fixture on year-ending best of lists and propelled the band to deservedly secure important festival appearances including Primavera Sound, SXSW and Coachella, Pitchfork and many more.
As for LA’s hardcore outliers in ZULU, 2023 has proven to be a career year anchored by the arrival of their celebrated Flatspot Records full length, A New Tomorrow. Earning praise from the likes of the Los Angeles Times, Stereogum, Revolver, Alt Press, Brooklyn Vegan and your very own Knotfest crew, Zulu has been on a tear all year with no signs of slowing in sight.
Linking up for a late summer, early fall co-headlining tour, both Zulu and Soul Glo will cross the country together beginning September 7th with an appearance in Denver, CO at the Marquis Theatre. The run will stretch through October 6th where the finale will take place in Detroit, MI at the Tangent Gallery. The tour will mark the first full domestic trek for Zulu since the release of A New Tomorrow back in March.
The announcement follows Zulu’s recent special collaboration with Frequency x Spotify Singles in honor of Black Music Month. Zulu reworked a rendition of the jazzy instrumental track, “Shine Eternally” featured on A New Tomorrow along with a special guest assist from emerging songwriter sensation King Isis.
Contrasting the sultry swagger of the retooled “Shine Eternally” Zulu also shared their version of a modern metal classic with a volatile version of the Slipknot anthem, “Wait and Bleed”.
Tickets for the tour are set to go on sale July 14th at 10am local time. There is a special Soul Glo pre-sale set for July 12th. For more information, visit the band online – HERE
