Watch DOWN reunite to celebrate 25 years of NOLA
There have been a handful of pro-shot, livestreaming performances that have really been able to get fans charged up about experiencing live music again.
When sludge pioneers DOWN announced they would be coming together to perform their classic, NOLA in its entirety to celebrate the album's 25th anniversary, fans had a reason to be excited again. The news functioned as an awesome consolation, as DOWN was slated to perform plenty in 2020 - though the pandemic had plans otherwise.
Connecting with Crowbar's Kirk Weinstein for the first time in seven years, the livestream was the band's first show in four and the set started out with an anthem.
The line up of Phil Anselmo, Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity), Pat Bruders, and drummer Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod) along with Weinstein charged through a 15-song set that included all of NOLA and a few additional essentials from DOWN including "Ghosts Along the Mississippi."
The band has released a portion of the streaming event that is available for fans to view for free. The entire performance is still available until September 1st at 6pm ET - tickets are available HERE.
For a sample, watch Anselmo pay tribute to Dimebag and Vinnie Paul prior to DOWN performing "Lifer."
