TODAY: Knotfest and Wacken World Wide stream At The Gates' historic 2008 Wacken Open Air performance

The next installment of the Knotfest Streaming Concert Series will celebrate the influence and impact of one of Gothenburg's finest in At The Gates.

Revisiting the band's victorious return to the stage, Knotfest has teamed with Wacken World Wide to stream At The Gates' 2008 reunion set from the globally respected authority in metal that is the Wacken Open Air Festival.

The performance was filmed and featured on the band's The Flames of the End box set, documenting their reunion after more than a decade away from the spotlight. The audio from the performance was also later released as the live record, Purgatory Unleashed.

The streaming of the landmark performance will commemorate the 25th anniversary of At The Gates' seminal work in the 1995 release, Slaughter of the Soul. The album continues to have a lasting effect on the landscape of contemporary metal and is considered a milestone achievement in the band's established legacy within the genre.

Showcasing At The Gates commanding an impassioned crowd of thousands, the concert footage boasts a comprehensive 18-track setlist that features anthemic renditions of essentials from Slaughter of the Soul, including an adrenaline-charged opening with the title track that is sure to incite goosebumps.

The announcement of the streaming event follows news that At The Gates are currently at work in the studio on a 2021 full length release. The band has continued to share studio updates documenting the process via their social media. The album will be the band's first since their Pantheons Blind EP, featuring selected tracks from their last full-length, in 2018’s To Drink From the Night Itself.

Earache Records is also giving Slaughter of the Soul their 'Full Dynamic Range' treatment for a vinyl release that ensures optimum sound.
