Electric Callboy sweat it out and earn a big win at the 2022 Heavy Music Awards
Few music videos had the kind of impact that "Pump It" from German outfit Electric Callboy when it dropped late last year. The single from the band's pending Tekkno release, in just six months, has gone on to amass more than 13 million views - a testament to the kind of levity and good time the band has brought to the genre.
Checking in with our own Alicia Atout at the Heavy Music Awards, the band was bathing in the afterglow of a more than gratifying win, walking with the hardware for "Best Music Video of the Year". Brimming with gratitude and having the added satisfaction of coming up just short of the win in the same category in years prior, the band found it difficult to express the kind of emotion they felt from the honor.

They went on to detail how the process of capturing the aerobic antics that made "Pump It" such a neon spandex-clad sensation was a lot more exhaustive than the audience could know. Explaining how the band did real workouts and put in time with choreographers to bring their vision to life, the sweat equity that went into the project was unlike anything else the band had ever completed before.
Electric Callboy shared that while the production may have been a bit more than they could chew physically, the end result was especially rewarding given the kind of success the video has had and how it has entertained so many people since it's unveiling.
Before wrapping up their time on the microphone, the band offered some update on their September Century Media Records full length, with Tekkno due out in just a couple of months. Having already previewed the album with singles like "Spaceman", "We Got the Moves" and the juggernaut in "Pump It" the band was naturally asked to delve into the album's intriguingly titled, “ Fuckboi” which features Conquer Divide.
Keeping the details a bit veiled, the band did reveal that the song is actual a love song and one of the more tender cuts on the full length. Beginning the story of what the song refers to, the guys stopped short and explained that it might be better if the fans found out for themselves.
