Trivium lay waste to The Wiltern on the 'Deadmen and Dragons' Tour
Metallic stalwarts Trivium closed out their colossal 'Deadmen and Dragons' tour with a showing that proved nothing short of incendiary this week. The cross country run that saw a bolstered roster of support from the likes of Between the Buried and Me, Whitechapel and Khemmis, saw Trivium execute selections from both their most recent offerings in 2020's What the Dead Men Say and their ambitious follow up in 2021's In The Court of the Dragon.
In addition to the tenacity and performative prowess of the band's most recent offerings, the band roped in essentials from their nearly two-decade deep catalog, charging through classics from their archive including "Like Light to Flies" from 2005's Ascendency, plus titular anthems like "The Sin and the Sentence" and the closer of "In Waves" - Trivium further asserted their dual status as revered vets and prolific contemporaries.
The capacity crowd at the iconic Wiltern of Los Angeles spent 90-minutes basking in the barrage from one of heavy music most consistent collectives as each song seemed to ramp up the palpable level of electricity that permeated throughout the theatre. In a word, Trivium ended their 'Deadmen and Dragons' run with a towering showcase of showmanship and skill that has long positioned the band in a league of their own.
