The future looks bright as 7-year old Caleb Hayes performs Slipknot's "Sulfur" on The Ellen Degeneres Show
Featured on the March 2nd episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show, young Caleb Hayes has now asserted himself as the next viral sensation following an impressive appearance opposite the veteran daytime talk show host.
You may remember, Ellen was the show that first broke drumming sensation Nandi Bushell back in 2019, making the young musician a household name. Bushell's star went otherworldly following that appearance, going from playing Nirvana songs on the show to squaring off in a drum battle with Dave Grohl himself just a short time later.
Next on deck, 7-year old UK drummer Caleb Hayes took to the show to flex his skills and profess his love for Slipknot. Rocking a slick mohawk and draped in a fresh leather jacket, the young talent tapped into the spirit of Joey Jordison and nailed a live rendition of Slipknot's "Sulphur" from the band classic 2008 album, All Hope Is Gone.
Following his performance, Hayes proved equally charming during the interview portion, sharing that he has been drumming since he was two, his father showed him the percussive ropes (though he has since eclipsed him) and that Slipknot was undoubtedly his favorite band. The cute kiddo even shared how he combats his occasional stage fright with thoughts of chocolate - obviously.
Punctuating the performance, Ellen had a surprise in store for the superstar in the making. Hayes would share that he was saving to get a Jay Weinberg signature snare to add to his arsenal. Ellen would gift him the drum right then and there, prompting a priceless reaction from the drummer that spoke to real power of music.
As for Caleb's favorite band, Slipknot is set to begin the first leg of the Knotfest Roadshow later this month. Tickets can be found by clicking button below.
