Corey Taylor reveals he has written five movie scripts
Asserting the kind of creative pace that few artists can flex, Corey Taylor made some interesting revelations in a recent radio interview on 105.5 WDHA.
While discussing the achievements of his 2020 solo debut in CMFT and how he has continued to stay active during the pandemic downtime, Taylor shared that in addition to his music, the heavy culture renaissance man has also completed five different movie scripts.
Going onto explain what appeals most to him about getting involved in film, Taylor confided that his vision is more behind the camera instead of in the spotlight. "Actually, I have no real interest in a big movie role. To me, the interesting part is writing the story. The interesting part, for me, is creating the world, and then watching people kind of make that world a reality. That's what I wanna see. I always said one of my goals was to see a movie through soup to nuts — from script to pre-pro to post to the screen."
Coinciding with his prolific 2020, Taylor was also linked to cinematic projects including the horror film Rucker and his role as Chilly Billy in Bad Candy. Taylor was especially prominent in the 80's era film documentaries In Search of Tomorrow and In Search of Darkness - both of which served as comprehensive deep dives into influential sci-fi and horror films from the decade.
As for his cinematic plans, Taylor intends to shop the scripts and work his way into the story subtly, but the aim to see a complete production all the way through. "I've done a couple of things, and, obviously, with any script that I write, I'll probably take a little, smaller role and kind of give it to myself. It's definitely what I'm doing with the script that I'm shopping right now, which is called Zombie Versus Ninja, and it's exactly what
