The Book of Boba Fett' Drops Its First Trailer

Boba Fett became an instant Star Wars legend the second he appeared onscreen for only a couple minutes in The Empire Strikes Back and has remained a strong fan favorite ever since.

Boba would appear again decades later in Attack of the Clones, albeit as a young boy - its his father, Jango Fett (played by Temuera Morrison) that we get to see in action.

Despite his constant popularity and appearances in various comics, novels, and animated series, Boba has yet to receive his own proper live-action story all his own - until now.

With the massive success of Disney+'s The Mandalorian - itself the very first live-action Star Wars show - it only made sense for Boba to finally get his due.

Temuera Morrison and Fennec Shand star in 'The Book of Boba Fett'

With Temuera Morrison returning to the franchise to play his own son (who is actually a direct clone of him, it's a long story), Boba Fett returned to the galaxy far, far away in the second season of The Mandalorian, reclaiming his armor and kicking lots of stormtrooper ass.

The episode was directed by Robert Rodriguez (The Faculty, Spy Kids, Sin City, Machete, Alita: Battle Angel), who appears to be the dominant creative force behind The Book of Boba Fett. Much of the Mandalorian team is directly involved with the new series, including Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, composer Ludwig Göransson, and Ming-Na Wen stars alongside Morrison, reprising her role as Fennec Shand.

The first trailer has Fett and Shand navigating the galaxy's underworld full of scum of villainy in order to fill the void left by Jabba the Hutt. Much like The Mandalorian, the effects and the scale of it look positively enormous, and better looking than even most movies today. Disney money gets ya places.

'The Book of Boba Fett' premieres December 29th 2021 exclusively on Disney+.
