Max Cavalera talks Beneath the Remains/Arise tour and more on the latest Talk Toomey podcast

The latest edition of the Talk Toomey podcast welcomes legendary metal pillar Max Cavalera for a comprehensive discussion ahead of the highly-anticipated Beneath the Remains/Arise Tour with Iggor Cavalera.

Connecting with host Josh Toomey, the two begin the discussion diving into Fear Factory's Dino Cazares joining rank and playing in Soulfly. They spoke about the possibility of different guitarists on upcoming tours, and detailed the importance of being productive throughout the lockdowns. Max would go onto wrote and release a new project with his son Igor Amadeus Cavalera in Go Ahead and Die during the lockdown, in addition to his work with Killer Be Killed.

Max also spoke about the writing and recording of seminal Sepultura classics in 1989's Beneath the Remains and 1991's Arise, working with producer Scott Burns, and the growth between the two records. He also discussed the infamous Eddie Vedder story, meeting James Hetfield for the first time, and Flea "air bassing" on the side of the stage.
